ActiveBuddy is a platform for member-submitted activities. Members are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and safety of the activity information they publish.
Data we collect
- Account details such as username, email address, display name, profile fields, and verification status.
- Activity details submitted by members, including public location, schedule, language, difficulty, pace, equipment notes, and optional descriptions.
- Technical data needed for security, moderation, anti-spam checks, and proof of consent. The registration IP address is stored only as a one-way hash.
How data is used
- To create and manage member accounts and activity posts.
- To show safe public activity previews to visitors and richer details to signed-in members when allowed.
- To moderate content, prevent misuse, handle support requests, and improve the service.
User-submitted content
ActiveBuddy does not guarantee that member-submitted activity data is complete, current, or accurate. Visitors and members should use their own judgment before joining any activity. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ActiveBuddy is not responsible for false, misleading, harmful, or malicious information submitted by members.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or export of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing. Production launch should include the final controller identity, contact email, retention schedule, and data protection contact details.
